ABOUT PAUL

Go ahead, call him a "computer geek" — Paul doesn’t mind.

Paul’s the kind of guy who gets excited when the local newspaper runs ads for the latest motherboards. He builds his own computers instead of buying them at the store. When he goes on long plane flights, he brings books like SQL Server 2000 Database Design and Implementation. "I look over and he’s so absorbed that you’d think he was reading a mystery novel," says Paul’s wife, Suzanne Schlosberg, who prefers People magazine for her in-flight reading.

Actually, for Paul, computer problems are mysteries of a sort — the kind he loves to solve. When a screen freezes or an Internet disconnects or a printer goes on the fritz, Paul works tirelessly to find out why and get the system back up and running. Paul’s website services also involve a bit of detective work. "I ask a lot of questions to find out what drives my clients — what kind of image they want to project — so that I can create a site they’re excited about."

In addition to having an innate curiosity about and affinity for electronics, Paul brings to his business substantial experience as a software engineer for major corporations. Before starting his own company, Paul worked for 10 years in the aerospace industry, developing "mission-critical" software for companies such as Lockheed Martin, Litton, Rockwell and Teledyne Controls. In plain English: if the systems failed, planes could crash, missles could go off course, anthrax could go undetected. Clearly, this is a man you can trust with a computer!

Paul does not, however, spend every waking hour in front of his PC. He’s also a cross country ski racer, runner, avid backpacker and amateur photographer. Paul lives in Bend, Oregon, with his wife, Suzanne Schlosberg, a professional writer who has no clue what a motherboard is.
